crackwhatcanonHi guys, Becca here, bringing in my third character--Kaede, protagonist from the awesome, bloody, creepy as hell, bloody, weirdly full of fanservice, bloody, tearjerker-tragic and bloody manga-based anime Elfen Lied. Kaede, known as "Lucy" by the organization hunting her, takes the "angry, alienated teen with scary psychokinetic powers" trope and dials it up to eleven. Her canon history takes an AU turn early in her canon; instead of escaping from the facility she was held in in Japan (and getting shot in the head), she was kidnapped by a certain multinational bioweapons company, flown to America, and made her escape while being transported.
Kaede is mentioned in canon to be anywhere from 15-18 years old at series beginning (apparently on the younger side in the manga). I am making her eighteen because that more closely matches her behavior, tone and emotional reactions in the anime, and because otherwise I'll start her ac with a naked underaged chick wandering into Vegas, which is...uh...yeah. O.o
Kaede is tall, statuesque, and very pale, with a sort of cold poise. She has magenta hair, ruby eyes, and a pair of hard, bony, slightly cat-ear-shaped white horns poking up from just behind her temples. She also has a set of four invisible, superhuman limbs sprouting from her back which provide her with a variety of (mostly dangerous, some defensive) abilities.
She is violent, embittered and a little nuts, but she is also very lonely, and easily disarmed by genuine kindness, honesty, and consideration. She is most easily approached by obvious nonhumans, followed by those who can prove nonhuman (or pariah) status. She will not harm animals and avoids harming nonhumans as well.
She will be coming in immediately after her escape, which means that she'll be walking into Vegas to look for clothes and food and to get her bearings. This will likely run her afoul of the local "rescue forces", whom she will redshirt in horrific numbers while leaving their prisoners alone. This in turn should hopefully catch the attention of a few PCs. :) Maybe her outburst could provide a distraction that helps some of the characters flee? Hit me up if you're interested.
